Mount Liamuiga &
the Rain Forest
This
lush covered mountain rises to a height of 3,792 feet above sea level.
This gently sleeping volcano with its sulfur vents and a fairly large
fresh water lake is almost always covered by clouds.
On a
hike up to "the Crater", as the locals say, one can see the true and
unspoiled beauty of St. Kitts. The rim of the crater is a mile wide
across and is covered with beautiful trees, palms, orchids and wild
raspberries.
There are many tour guides that offer tours into the rain
forest, but only few of them really know what they are
talking about. Greg's Safaris is one of the best rain
forest tour groups found on the island.
