Both St. Kitts & Nevis have an appealing variety of places to stay--beautifully restored plantation inns, full-service hotels, simple beachfront cottages, and resorts such as the luxurious Four Seasons Resort in Nevis, where the beach concierge comes by to spray you with a cool peppermint mist while you sit on the beach, there is also the Royal Marriott Beach Resort, Spa & Casino in St. Kitts which is one of the largest resorts in the Caribbean and boast a fleet of SUV limousines for its guests.

There are also a number of guest houses and a few self-catering condos. Fans and breezes keep things cool, so air-conditioning in rooms is rare; of all the plantation inns, only Ottley's has air-conditioning. Also, don't expect to find much more than the basic amenities (and reasonable prices) at the hotels.

In general, the standards of rooms are as high as the cuisine, although at the inns, air-conditioning is usually not available. Inn meal prices are usually about US$10 per breakfast, US$10 for lunch, and US$30 for dinner. Many of the inns offer free shuttles to beaches and recreational activities and have all their own swimming pools. Rates do not include a 7-percent government tax or service charge, usually 10 percent.
